It wasn't Feather Tor you saw with no access messages and barbed wire around it. That was Vixen Tor and yes it is currently totally out of bounds.

Feather Tor is to the right-hand-side of Vixen Tor if you are looking at Vixen Tor with Little Staple Tor behind you.

I was there at Fur Tor South as well at around 12:00 but didn't see anybody there. We must have all just missed each other. Shame as it was my first time going on New Year's Day. Not that it matters now but I was the one walking around in a blue jacket with a black Labrador.

I also have a Garmin Etrex H and I must say it never drains my batteries. I use rechargeable batteries as well.

To the question of "what counts". They all count to me whether I get them on the moors at a meet or in a pub, in they go.

My first stamp was a stamp of a cartoon horse on the top of Cox Tor. I was actually looking for letterboxes at the time after overhearing someone in a local shop discussing what letterboxing was to someone. It sounded interesting...

I have collected 959 stamps since about March 2008. I WILL get over 1000 by the time of the next meet in March!

I have just done a quick search of the West Devon Library and I see that it has three copies of it. They are in Ivybridge, Newton Abbot, and Tavistock but they are not able to be loaned out the site says.

Personally I like the 10-fig grid references as it means my dog gets more exercise as I'm not stopping so often to use my compass. :D That's another way of looking at it isn't it! Obviously I understand that they make it easier for the LBT and all that but what I would say is that in my opinion Char...

I have a Garmin eTrex and I know that I'm not clued up on all the features it provides. For example, I never knew until Saturday that the GPS can tell you the bearing you are walking to and I found this out by accident.

Lol, yeah I saw you both. I was up there the same time as you and I remember seeing two people, one with a dark jacket and one with a light coloured jacket.

I was going to head over to the Staple Tors from Cox Tor as well.

Hi guys,

Just read your blog hehe. I don't suppose you passed a bloke with a black Labrador at the top of Cox Tor when it was foggy and raining? I remember seeing two people carrying on up Cox Tor as I was walking back down!

Please can I add that along with the cheque you need to include a SAE or an email address if you would prefer the starter stamp and clue sheet via email.

Have you tried your local chemists? Tell them they are for charity purposes
Yes I have and they all say they don't get the pill pots anymore apart from one chemist who is saving them back for us but I only have a couple from them in about 4 months.
