Starting off

Post by Parkhill Plodders »

I first started in 1986, went out with a friend and his parents who had been out before letter boxing . I was 11 then. Now 37 Igo up there with my 2 children. But over the years we have introduced many people to letterboxing.

My first box was Burrator Dam Cat No 1108 which I found on the 4th May 1985, the clue I got from a friend, when working in the area I had a look for this box and found it.
The following weekend, you guessed it, I was on Dartmoor with my friend looking for more stamps, 2012 now retired, still letterboxing and loving it. Thanks Eddy Algar (EWE & ME)

Strange how addictive it can be, my kids love it when they find a box. They have to take it in turns to find them. I have to distract one while pointing to a box to the other one.

I doubt it but you never know what's lurking in those boxes from my childhood that are in the attic :)
