oats walk

i know its not letterboxing talk but does anyone no the date and where i can get info for the oats walk 2012,many thanks and yes im still alive just havent been on the site for a while

:) Blimey! Is the OATS Walk still going?!? I last completed it in 1996, and since tried and failed to locate any details of the walk or the organisers. OATS stands for Okehampton Adventure Training Scheme (I believe!) and that doesn't appear to exist any more. Perhaps get in touch with the Long Distance Walkers Association (www.ldwa.org.uk) and get it restarted! I'd support that!

The 25 mile cross Dartmoor, Buckfast Abbey to Buckland Abbey walk - The Abbots Way - still happens in October (or at least it did last year!) That was always a bit of fun! Thats organised by the Tavistock and District Outdoor Education Forum (Google it!).

try the Padstow to Fowey walk ... it can be done in either one (gold badge) day or two days (silver). A bloody long walk definitely worth the experience
