So sad to hear that Godfrey died a couple of days ago at the grand old age of 99. We all have a lot to thank him for for getting us out on to the moors taking part in our hobby of Letterboxing.
R.I.P. Godfrey you were tryly a Legend of Dartmoor.

Re: R.I.P. GODFREY
I've just found out myself a few minutes ago...
Having had the pleasure of seeing him at his home, A true gentleman. He will be sadly missed by the whole letterboxing community.
My deepest condolences go out to his family and the thousands of letterboxers who have met him and became friends.
Definitely the end of a living legend.
RIP Godfrey

I never (knowingly) met Godfrey or Anne, but through their books they introduced me to this amazing hobby and gave me a love for Dartmoor. I'm very grateful to them.
