Cranmere Pool

Post by Fulchet »

Crafty Jo and Jenny & James did the walk to Cranmere Pool yesterday, only to find that someone had stolen the stamp. How bad is that!!!!

As I mentioned in another thread about this, it's a terrible thing to find that someone has the nerve to steal the main letterbox stamp on the moors! This has got to be someone who know letterboxing very well and obviously knows the moors.

Good news, the Dartmoor Rangers are going to replace the Cranmere Pool letterbox stamp in the next few days.

Hey, that's great news! Plus it enforces their support for the letterboxing community. Thanks Tina.

I feel another walk coming on! :D
A neighbour of mine fancies a long hike over the moors and has offered to keep me company. So as long as I can re-trace our steps from Sunday I may yet get a copy of THE stamp.
Let me know when it has been replaced Tina, and perhaps you would like to come along too. :D

Fantastic!

I guess we'll have to go back again as well! :)

The Dartmoor Rangers just told me it would be a few days, so I should imagine, give it a couple of weeks, and we'll be ok.

I disagree. You dont need to know the moors very well, nor read a map. All have have to do it be able to drive and your practically there. The sooner the ring-road is close the better.

Remember, getting to Cranmere Pool used to be an achievment, thats why the stamp was there. Now, its more of an achievement to get to the top of Hay Tor
