Found on Dartmoor walk

Post by Jones family on tor »

Hi!
We placed this walk out (found in Dartmoor) at the end of July and no's 3 & 4 have already gone missing. We shall endeavour to replace them but will not be able to get up to Dartmoor until the Oct half term.

If anyone does this walk and wants a copy of the stamps please email or PM. us.

Better still if anyone intends to do the walk and would like to place some copies of the missing stamps in box two we would be very, very grateful.

Hi, I might venture up there soon so I will check for you, depending on the weather and time that is. I think you might have emailed me the clues so I will have to check through the mass of downloaded WOM's I have here.

By the way, I think I came across two of your boxes near Kings Tor, not far from the railway track last week, Found in Dartmoor - Letterboxing was one of them. Hope you don't mind but I've put the image on my web site for some stamp pics, check it out from my link below.
This one was in a watery boggy area after all the rain but fortunately bone dry inside, I've made sure it will be ok in the future by lifting it up a little from the ground. Still well hidden though. I take it these are yours? :?

Cheers
Dizzy

Hi Dizzy,
Yes these are ours and I have no problems with you using the stamp image on your web site.
I shall email you the clues and a copy of the two missing stamps.
The clues were in the latest updates

WOW! I would like to give a big thank you to Ki Adi Mundi
He has offered to place out our replacement boxes for this walk, so we do not have to wait until the end of Oct. It is a super gesture and it has proved that the people involved in letterboxing are mostly caring and good people. Also it proves how this forum has helped us grogles to become involved with Letterboxing.
Thanks again

Hi Wires,
Thanks for the update. This is the fifth box to go missing. We have replaced the other four but are not sure if we shall replace this one. If anyone does the walk and wants a copy of the missing stamp please PM. us and we shall send a copy via email.

We have been informed today by a couple, who have done the walk today, that Box 6 is on site but Box 7 is missing
So if you do this walk please let us know what you find.

Just to say that we did this walk yesterday - on an area of the moor we had not been to before. It's an excellent walk, great clues and stamps! Thanks to JFOT for the clues! :D

We can confirm that BOX 7 (Logan stone) is missing, but ALL of the others were in place.

PS: We also found Kirsty at Windy Post and can confirm that the stamp is still there!

Best wishes

James & Jenny :D
326 stamps collected - lots more to go!
