North Dartmoor Escapee

Hi,

Looking for the box number of "North Dartmoor Escapee - no. 16. Cullever Steps". I can't find it in my smattering of older catalogues. The box itself was in good condition, as was stamp and book (although pretty much full). Last entry was about 2005 (rats I guess I should have looked for the *first* entry to give us an idea of when the box was placed).

I have checked every catalogue I have (1989-2008) and I cannot find it listed. I even checked the deletions and moving boxes.

Wow! Thanks for that. A bit of a mystery then, and obviously not a recent WOM (since the book shows quite old stamps in it). Again, may ask Angela Alderidge about it - could be a long email I'll be sending her!

The North Dartmoor Escapee series is a WOM series put out by the Dartmoor Dodo, back in 1999/2000. They were a rugby ball shaped stamp with the words North at the top and Dartmoor at the bottom then in the middle the name. They were sited well away from the name depicted on the stamp, hence North Dartmoor Escapee. There are a few still on site. Hope this helps
