Tiny, mysterious stamps

Does anyone have any info on these little fellas? Theres loads of these stamps out on the moor. In American letterboxing they're called 'Parasites', in other words they live inside other letterboxes. The two small parts are kept in tiny plastic bags, with no books.

This is just one example we have found. You can also find them for Easter, Christmas and a whole host of other sets.

Just interested if they are Moving boxes, or something else...

I cannot quite understand why someone puts these 'cuckoo' boxes out like this.

I never have come across clues relating to such boxes. The person siting them appears to 'disown' them once 'boxed' somewhere. They therefore will not have a record of the people taking a copy of their stamp(s). So what do they get out of it?

Maybe they go back some time later and remove the whole box!

Strange way to do boxing!

I have found a couple of these before.

But, like you, I have kniow idea who owns them or puts them out.

Sorry.

I have found quite a few tiny stamps but know the ones I have found have been put in boxes by 'Pebbles'. She normally does a walk, then puts these extra little stamps in as bonus's, to be moved on. Mainly with a label - Easter 2010, May day 2009 etc... I have moved 3 on quite recently.

I like little extra stamps like those. I'm not sure I've found some or not, occasionally find a box with two seemingly unrelated stamps.

I bumped into Pebbles two years ago and we did a charity walk (Bude Scouts I think?) together around Cox Tor. She was putting out a few tiny stamps on the way that day. I think they were part of her Pencil Case series as I don't recall them being put with other boxes.

The mystery remains (?)
