Fuge's Post

I found a beautiful handcut stamp near Fuge's Post on New Year's Day. It was in in a broken, mud-filled box, and what I could decipher of the remains of the book suggests is had been out since the 1990s. Within a hexagonal border, it had "Dartmoor" around the top and "Fuges Post" around the bottom, with the silhouette of a prancing horse in the middle. Does anyone know what this stamp is and who it might belong to? I'd like to return it to its owner or re-site it.

(Sorry, can't work out how to post an image)

Drat I bet you had that with you at Fur Tor? or did you find on way back? I went to Fuges Post on way out and found a great stamp that has been out since July and only found by two geocachers !.. lol

I found it on the way back, tucked under a rock behind some reeds, and about two feet from a geocache... And I found the other letterbox you mention too.

Great looks really old, was the log book mushed?

Sadly the book was a complete wreck. I think I could make out the date 1998, but it was wet. slimy, muddy and falling apart, and no chance of prizing the pages apart and drying it out. A shame, as there was probably some interesting letterboxing history in those pages.
