FYI, I sent an email today to all the 821 users (minus banned ones) reminding them of this site in the hope it drums up a little more business.

So I noticed... I wondered what it was at first... Cos Tom gave me explicit instruction never to do that ... though I can't remember the reason why

No technical reason not to, and I've received no negative responses - but three personal replies thanking me for the reminder.

That and a whole load of non-deliverable mail, which was expected.

Not something to do lightly or frequently. of course.

Some of the direct replies from that mailshot - you possibly remember these guys better than I do!

I remember , life's been mad but I have popped onto the forum to read.

Aw, please do keep us on your mailing list - been manic the last couple of years but hoping to manage a trip to Dartmoor later in the year :) xx

Thanks, hoping to get back into it this spring!

Thanks for the reminder.

Not a problem, haven’t been on for some time I must admit, we only get up and letterbox a couple of times a year at the moment as I run a lot of marathons and half marathons so that has taken over a bit, but I will always do a bit of boxing as have always loved it.

It seems that a lot of the people I New who did it when I started 25 years ago have either passed on or are just too old and I don’t think the younger ones like getting on the moor much. Not sure how many boxes are up there these days but the last couple of visits I made last year were up to great Mis tor and older bridge /Crazywell pool and there didn’t seem many boxes there anymore, they used to have loads in those areas in years gone by.

All the best

(RAZORBILL ON TOUR.)

Hi – thanks for the email. With one of these odd coincidences we had just been talking about letterboxing and I had thought that I should be looking at the forum again. As we now live in Scotland we only manage down to Dartmoor once a year sadly. However the forum has been great for keeping us in touch and in particular letting us know which charity walks are available as we are never able to make it to the meet. Thanks for all the good work and I will try to add some of our thoughts when appropriate

Mhairi and David

strangely enough just this afternoon i booked 3 nights at the end of march in the prince of wales, princetown

so hopefully be able to find some more boxes

We haven't forgotten you, been members of Dartmoor letter boxers for over 25 years, but we live in Nottinghamshire and came regular when our children were younger, have been about every 2 years with the grandchildren and still try to do at least one walk whilst we are there, so the forum has invaluable in finding charity walks suitable for them to do. Daughter and I still love planning the extra boxes on route but the walks are great for the others. Please keep the forum going might not use it much we appreciate it when we need it.

Many thanks for your email. I'm afraid I can no longer letterbox or walk the

moor and I miss it greatly but I have a sever back problem which means I can

walk only a very short distance. A mobility scooter is a great boon these

days but not on the moor. Can't really take part in the forum. Jan Palmer
