I received a random email today from the Rixdale Ramblers. It contained 5 clues and was requesting some in return. I wouldn't imagine they are bogus but as anyone heard of them?

Never heard of them were are there clues for? maybe see who is going on the moor this week and if they are near one they can pass it back to you so you know if they are letterboxers or box thiefs

Hi, we have had updates from the Rixdale Rambler , don't know of them but the address is a genuine address and phone number for a farrier by the name of Vowden.

Hi, I have been boxer for over 15 years now, have over 21,000 boxes found, and NO I am not a box thief. I've many boxes out myself (over 80 in one series alone). If you ask nearly anyone on the WOM curcuit you'll find they have heard of me. Probably never met me, as I don't go to any of the weekly get togethers due to family commitments. I also hardly see anyone on the Moors. When do people box? My stamp is in the shape of an anvil. Surely you've seen that in a few books?

Hi Welcome to the site - you certainly have a lot of boxing experience - fancy being suspected as The Box Thief!! I think I've seen your anvil stamped up in the visitors books. Generally box on a Sunday my one day off a week - and usually on the North Moors - but this Sunday will be straying further from home after attending the Meet!

didn't mean to sound grumpy, obviously we all need to make sure we're not passing clues on to the Pill Pot Pincher. If you want to get into the world of WOM clues, simply ring the number in the visitors book of any unregistered boxes you find, and most people will be willing to swap clues. Either that, or ask anyone you meet out on the Moors if they have any, and swap E. mail addresses. That's how I've built up my list over the years. Or, send a random E. mail to unsuspecting people like The Lost Legionaire! Oh, and yes I'd love your clues if I don't already receive them. Always willing to swap clues with a genuine boxer.

thanks for the kind sentiments, Nik. Just had a quick look at the mystery stamp section and solved a couple of the puzzles, so glad I could be of assistance! Oh yes, to the Lost Legionnaire - I'm female and not known for violent outbursts, so you should be O.K.!!

We have been receiving her clues for sometime now. Her stamps are some of the best we have found. Have seen Godfrey's collection of hers and they are quite impressive. If you read this Sheron, thanks!
