For people staring letterboxing I think it would be good to add a few books to help them out on the moor with this addictive hobby, found these on amazon and not seen them before but have them on order now. Also the second book is for both geo and boxers.

If you have anymore books you recomend please put them on here with a photo

The first book might take ages to come out. I've had it on order for months.

I always send my letter to Santa early.

They are having a secondhand book sale in work at the moment and one of my eagle eyed colleagues spotted a rare Dartmoor :?: book which Ive bought for 50p, pre 1954 as the railway to Princetown is on the map

There are 3 pullout maps in it..oops thats a bit big sorry folks

The ward lock website is about the series of guides not just the Dartmoor ones, what I have discovered is that the legendary Dartmoor website has a listing of quite a few of the other guides on it

Hi all :)
I got both the books by Anne Swinscoe;
Dartmoor letterboxing
more Dartmoor letterboxing
and the add on by John Hayward;
101 Dartmoor letterboxes
(all from the wh smiths in Torquay!)

More on the historical side but fascinating reads and a really good spread of stamps inside (but not where to fin them!)

Also picked up "Let's go letterboxing - A beginners guide" from princes tea rooms in Princetown during a Cream Tea break!
This one is good for a complete beginner, short enough to read but full of details and tips. A really common sense beginners guide.
Hope these help :)

Happy New Year to you all :)
