Why do we leave mince pies and sherry out for Santa? In 2006 there were 25.29 million households in Britain. Conservatively assume that 60% of those households each leaves out 2 mince pies and a glass of sherry. That means on Christmas Eve Santa eats 30,348,000 mince pies and drinks 15,174,000 glasses of sherry or 892,588.23 bottles. Don't you think he would die for a ham sandwich and a glass of milk and wouldn't the police love to catch up with him?
