Hi All, can anyone tell me if there are still Letterboxes at Buckland Abbey? I'm sure I heard somewhere that there is 10 on the site. Thanks in advance.

Anybody got any idea please?

I will phone them and ask if there are no responses by Saturday as I see that at the moment they are only open on the weekend but I would like to plan ahead if possible.

Thanks in advance.

Sorry I don't know.

No problem. They may not be important to me getting 100 before the meet now. I found 10 today and now have 77. I need to average 1 a day before the meet now!

Well done panomobile. A couple of really good weekends and you'll soon be there. I've got to find the same number to reach just a few more to get my 1000 at the meet.

Thanks. Good luck to you on getting the 1000. About a week ago it was looking like a tall order for me to get to 100 before the meet but 3 good sessions and it is now very doable. Knowing my luck I'll be scrambling around for a couple of boxes on the weekend of the meet.

Just to let you know. I phoned the Abbey just now and was told that the Abbey Letterbox trail is not active at the moment and that it maybe active later in the season but they haven't made up there minds yet.

Any idea if dogs are allowed on this trail? As far as I remember dogs are generally not allowed at the Abbey, on the grounds or in the woods.

That is a good question and one that I would like to know the answer too. I did a search on the Internet and according to the following website, dogs are only allowed in the car park http://www.gardens-guide.com/gardenpages/_0220.htm

In the information it says that the details were updated on 08/02/2008.
