Thanks John

At my pace, it took me 11 years, although over the last year I found 700 of them. I boxed for a couple of years, took a break, then for a few months, took a break and then more regularly over the last year.

I always enjoy the scenery and fresh air and don't really worry too much as to what speed I might find boxes. I'm happy whether I find one box or 25 boxes in a day, although I must admit, if I can find 10 in a day then I am very happy.

Some weeks, I just go for the walk, with no clues, and if I come across a box, I'll stamp it up. Other weeks I might take a big list and go for it.

I take my hat off to those that have found 10s of thousands though, such as Lifton Pak, who have found in excess of 42,000 over the years.

Yes, I was way too optimistic with 5 years! At the present rate it will actually take about 30-40 years for me! :)

I know what you mean about doing some 'boxing, and then taking a break. I find I spend a couple of months 'boxing, then a break for maybe 3 or 4. The worst bit is I frequently go onto the moors just for a walk (with the dog of course). I take my rucksack, but not the letterboxing stuff ("well I'm just going for a walk, not letterboxing"). It's then, of course, that I come across the letterboxes! If I remember where they are, I try and return soon afterwards. I really should organise myself a bit more, and just take the letterboxing stuff regardless of what I'm doing :)

Today I looked for 2 boxes, found one. I'm happy enough.
