Hi,
My hubby and children would like to start letterboxing on Dartmoor. I have no idea where to start. Is there a book out there that anyone would recommend? Where's the best place to start?
Thanks

Hi ClenchClan, welcome to the forum.

I am fairly new to Letterboxing. I would say that Pew Tor and the area around it (e.g. Heckwood Tor) is a great place to start searching for letterboxes. I also hear that Saddle Tor has lots of boxes and is good for beginners but I haven't been there myself yet.

Make sure you take your own stamp pad to take an impression of any letterboxes that you will find.

If you search around this forum you will find a wealth of helpful information.

Happy hunting!

Hi ClenchClan, welcome to the site. If you have any questions there will no doubt be someone on here more than happy to answer your questions.

There is already a lot of information on this site about what you can do and how to go about it. I would suggest if you are that keen on it go and visit the Plymouth Get together who meet at Woodland Fort (Crownhill) once a month ( I think it is the first Wednesday in Every Month) at 7pm ish. But please double check on this info...

Sounds better and better. Had long do they generally go on for? Thanks.

they have been going on for ages, as for time wise through the night, we went at 7pm and ended up leaving quite late as we was chatting for ages. but you can go for as long as you like or as little as you like.
