I used to be a keen letter boxer many years ago, but moved away from the area, so it wasn't practicable any more. However, I now live close enough to visit Dartmoor sometimes, and hope to get my husband interested in letterboxing. We went to Bonehill Rocks last week, and he was very pleased to find 2 letterboxes. Unfortunately he is somewhat mobility impaired, and we are both "age impaired"! Can anyone suggest a reasonably accessible area, not too far a walking distance from the car, where there is a good number of boxes please?
Many thanks!

Pew tor, but park around the back towards sampford tor might be a idea, flat till you get to pew but plenty of boxes around the area.

Yar Tor would be a reasonable place - however I dont know the limits of your disability - which makes it hard to advise

Thank you both for your replies. Next time we come to Dartmoor we shall definitely take your advice!

Hi Vron, nice to hear from you, I would agree with Monkeys that Pew Tor is best, I would park off the road by Moortown and you have a fairly level walk that will give up quite a few boxes (once you have crossed a small leat)

I think the thing to do is as much as you can and dont push your limits at first - but to take it easy and push your envelope each time you come out.
And before long you will be doing the Letterboxes on the map!
