Just Wondered how many people on here carry a traveller for other people to stamp?

I just think traveller are a great way to start a conversation and a great way to meet people on the moor.

So if you have one let us all know, if not why not make one...

I do have one but I am aways reluctant to ask if someone else has one, I guess because I have not found it, it sort of feels like cheating.

I haven't registered my personal stamp but I've been asked several times by other boxers if they could take a copy anyway. I like acquiring other people's stamps but I don't count them as part of my total.

We have a registered traveller - if asked we're more than happy to share with other boxers. We have collected a couple but, like Cranmere, we don't count them towards our total.

A lot depends upon several factors, the size of the group I meet how tired I am what the weather is doing and I carry four of them - though two are sort of in retirement.

Some years ago I met a group of brownies who were on their way off the moor - one of the group was really upset as she had so far collected 99 stamps and was desperate to reach her 100th, due to the size of the group the could only move slowly between boxes and, therefore, only managed to collect a few boxes. I asked her to smile from the depths of her misery, telling her that is she smiled then something nice would happen to her. She smiled I gave her my traveller to make up her 100th box! She went home as happy as a pig in mud!

There are some nice things that happen ot there and I was happy to be the giver on this occasion, though I did have to wait 30 minutes for the whole group to stamp my stamp up!

But don't be afraid to swap travellers as they say - if you don't ask you dont get!

I carry two - one advertises this forum and the other is a Licenced to Curry. I stamp them separately at the back of my book and do count them in my total. I don't ask everyone I meet, just those that I might get into conversation with, although I don't always remember to ask. I've collected just short of 20 over the years, so not a big total towards my over box count anyway.

I have a traveller called Fice's Well (No. 13,872).
I need to get another made though, as I dropped it and I think it is too badly damaged to repair. I will have to look around and get it sorted.

We have got a couple of travellers - just ask us if you see us out with the Corgis.
