I am sure I have seen reference to the letterboxes found near the trig points - but I cannot find where I have read the clues?
Any one please point me in the right direction?

Have you found any of the FTO boxes yet SS?
I could not find the Cox Tor one a few weeks back. I did find another box in the site. It may well be the box, but had no reference to the name of the series whatsoever. Any clue of what they might look like (?)

Sorry will try and sort out the scanner - in the meantime just to say they are lovely stamps usually in small 'click lock' boxes taped black. There are 2 stamps per box - the first being a picture of a trig with Dartmoor Trig stations above and then below the name of the trig e.g. Cox Tor, enclosed in a fancy border, about 2 x 1/2 inches. Then the second stamp goes below, and is just words that say the grid ref, height, and trig number size 1.1/2 x 1 inch. e.g. for Cox Tor I have

SX 530 761
442m
F.B.No. 3449

I found Cox tor box on the 14th Jan 2007. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the swift reply there ....

That description does not match the box I found. It had two stamps but they were small stamps of animals. I may have been in the wrong place after all. But I was very very very very close
I will try again next time I am in the area.

By the way, I saw you first in one of the visitors books when I was out around Brat / Doe / Sharp Tors on Wednesday. I love the stamp.

Thanks for that - unfortunately I look nothing like my stamp now - not a pretty sight with no clothes on!!!!!! PLUS far too old to be 'streaking' about the moors .
