several stamps in one box...

hi everyone. i had my first letterboxing experience yesterday and i am hooked!! going out again tomorrow!

went for a couple of easy ones to begin with and found some just by chance but in 2 of the boxes (the warren inn and the hound of the basket meals boxes) there was more then 1 stamp...

there were 7 in the basket meals box! - 3 of which were 'ledgends of dartmoor' stamps and they were absolutly gorgeous! i cant find any of the extra ones in the catalog and i am wondering...

where they came from..

why there is more then one in a box..

and finaly if each stamp counts towards my first 100 or if it has to be 100 different boxes?

The Hound of the Basketmeals has for many years taken in stamps found on the Moor - these are normally brought along by their customers (normally non-letterboxers) who may find them lying around on the moor when their box has been damaged or vandalised. So if your stamp goes missing in that area it's always worth asking them in case they are giving it refuge (and you can also have one of their delicious hamburgers!).
As to whether you count more than one stamp, I think that is between you and your conscience!

i wonder where the other ledgends of dartmoor stamps could be!?

if u look over hound tor u will find lots of boxes, many of them on this tor are in poor condition... if they lose there box, rather than taking them off the moor they get taken down to the take away at the bottom...
do they count ??? well it is a stamp and u found it !!!

they look like they would be a really nice set so i would love to find them all!

there are a few lovely stamps hidden around hound tor... there are also a lot of rubbish ones, worth the hunt though

aww its a real shame. maybe we sould do some rescue missions! lol

it seems daft to go to the effort of having stamps made and putting the boxes out and that if your not going to maintain them. i mean i know sometimes it is impossible but the amount of ruined ones out there its a real shame
