List of Letterboxes

Hi all, not sure if this would be possible or worthwhile but here goes.
After reading through the links a common problem is missing boxes. Would it be worthwhile creating a new sticky list with box name time/date visited (but no location deatails) to let people know at a glance which boxes are definitely still in situ. Just a thought :)

I have spent hrs looking through threads :) My thought was listing visited boxes still in situ, not missing or damaged ones. The idea is before you go hunting a specific box you can check online when it was last visited. But like i said just a thought

No clues to letterboxes on Dartmoor should be published on the web. Unfortunately at the moment we have a 'letterbox thief' amongst us. This sad person makes it his/her business to get clues then go out and steal the box. Sadly they also go out and buy the charity walks, then go and steal just a couple of those as well. Therefore the only way to get clues is to get to 100 boxes and then you can buy the catalogue and join the 100club. Once you are experienced and can get your own stamps made and sited on the moors, you may be able to get other WOM clues.

I like the idea - but the logistics to set up such a huge database would be an awesome task, it took me three months just to put into the computer the clues from the catalogue about 10 years ago (ok it did include 5000 WOM boxes as well) one can only go by the updates - which say they aren't there and then reappear again... very time consuming and the like.

I appreciate that you wouldn't want the clue for the boxes just to know if it were on site - thats all... maybe something worth doing in the distant future when I have nothing to do (or if someone else has nothing to do) with just the box number and name and a 6 figure reference and a deleted/on site/damaged/type box notification.
