Any outward bounds shop/ebay would do I would recommend a good sighting compass costs around 50-60 quid

The Silva Expedition 54 is one of the best sighting compasses for letterboxing (and the best that the brand manufacture). Its RRP is £70 so try www.silvacompasses.co.uk for lower prices.

I've had my Expedition 54 for 15 years, and its served me well, although a small bubble forms in it's casing when the air temperature drops below 10 deg C.

Or you could just relax, put your feet up, and invest in a GPS!

I agree the Silva Expedition 54 is good buy although not cheap, the sighting part is really good.

I promise I do not work for Amazon.co.uk...

Their price for the Silva Expedition 54 is down to £41.22 with free delivery. If it goes under £40 I might buy all their stock!

While you are at it: They also have the Garmin eTrex H at £63.40 with free delivery which I believe is unbeatable.
