I hope to get to the Spring meet, I've recently moved back to Plymouth after many years away, and I've been walking up on the moors again, I've missed the solitude and the stunning scenery.
Many years ago I had a travelling stamp called Rendevous Bound, which was a picture of a mountain man on horseback with his packhorse, I'm trying to find it in amongst the boxes. My personal stamp was another mountain man, with his canoe called Lije.
I haven't boxed since the meets were at the Prison officers club, my question is does Dennis the Menace still print the cryptic solutions? They helped me greatly towards my 1,000 badge.

Hi Lije,
Welcome to the site, you will be pleased to know that the meet has now returned to Princetown....
Since Dennis (and I) used to do the cryptic catalogue a lot of things have changed. I don't know if you know that all the catalogue clues have a 5 year life span now. You might find that the Word of mouth boxes probably now outnumber the catalogue boxes. The Dartmoor letterbox thief has run rampant. Hound Tor was destroyed by a load of morons (from Torquay I gather).
As for Dennis - he might be at the meet, I saw him for the first time in a long time at the last Spring meet. The age of the computer has sort of destroyed his catalogue cos there are "griddler" programs incorporated in a lot of cases.
Anyway I know what you mean by being away from the moors and how beautiful they look when one returns and I am looking forward to going back out there again in the next couple of weeks

Hi Lije,
No, Dennis The Meance, (my brother) does not produce the Cryptic Clue solutions catalogue anymore. He does not even letterbox anymore due to health problems.
He will make an appearance at the Meet.

Hi Nick and Noddy, thanks for letting me know, I'm going to have to be there fairly soon after it opens on Sunday as I usually drive Mum to my sister's for lunch, so it'll be a flying visit just to get the catalogue and some bits and pieces.
Give Dennis my best wishes if I don't see him Noddy, he'll remember me better as Russ who used to hang out as youngster at the old Regent pub with the rest of Exodus and at Woodland fort for the midweek meets when I lived at Deer Park.
All the best.
Lije.
