Today I found a box that was brand new. No ink on the stamp and no entries in the book yet. There was a stamped addressed postcard in the box.

I took the postcard as I assume it is me who should post that to the owner?

Would he be disappointed to get the card back from someone who found it by chance (and doesn't even have a personal stamp) and should I have left it for someone else?

Apart from that .. I found 6 others, including a 16 y/old ammo box one, and I only had 1 1/2 hrs lunch break walking the dogs - the only reason I had my stuff on me is that I brought my bag as it had a waterbottle in it and it was hot today. Great day :)

Well done you for getting a 'First in Book'. I presume you signed in on the front page???. I am sure the owner would be delighted that you found the box and that you have taken the time to send it on. Hope you put a little message and your name and date. This was how Letterboxing started way back out at Cranmere Pool.

If I take a print of the stamp and the book is useable I always write a note - I signed this one as well.

Cranmere pool is actually the first stamp I ever collected - but I don't like the routes to get to it. There are numerous other places I'd rather go if I have a few hours to spend.

i alway's throw some postcards in my boxes, always nice to get them back when people find them, I alaway's remember one i got back, it had no stamp and was like writing a postcard to someone as you was on holiday, think i still have it in the letterboxing box at home..
