Letterboxing Forum Activity

I can't help noticing that there is very little activity on the forum, I suppose its OK for retirees such as me, but I suppose most people are working and have better things to do. How big a membership is there? Does it become busier during the summer when people are on holiday?

Hello TT,

I think that this is a pattern that happens on many forums. I first joined last year, and had many questions to ask - consequently I posted quite a lot at the time. Having gained that knowledge I then went about walking/boxing until another query (or responding to another post) seemed appropriate.

Looking back through the posts, the 'quiet times' do get flagged up ocassionally, however most postings seem to attract a high number of readers, if not responders. This leads me to believe that there is a little more going on in the background than online activity might suggest.

Have fun, and enjoy the forum.

K&A.

As a Forum "owner" myself this Forum is no different, not many folk post more view. The way to get a lot of posts it to post something controversial, or totally off the wall. :D :D

It comes and goes oddly this winter has been quieter than usual. I will admit for the first time in ages I have missed a day or three - but I usually pop in and have a look as to see what is going on. Of recent ... not much.

Good point monkeys. We would be as well except for the drizzle today and yesterday, hopefully tomorrow ( Monday) will be OKish and the moor will be emptier, because all those poor people who have yet to retire will be back on the treadmill.

... ah well, looking out of the window you may not be so lucky with the weather today :( We ventured up yesterday and ,given how 'breezy' it was decided to avoid the high centre of the moor. There weren't that many walkers out but we did meet some fellow hardy souls who like us, has decided to brave the trail up Dr Blackalls Drive. We were all at 45 degree angles in the strong winds (the ones that cause your eyes to weep and your cheeks to take on that Devon rosy glow!). We did re-visit a nice box near Mel Tor (the first we ever discovered and got us started on boxing last year) and were pleased to see it had survived the winter well with a good collection of stamps in the book.

The good news is that several bulbs seem to be poking their heads out of the ground - so maybe better walking weather will be with us soon :)

Best wishes,
K&A
