We have noticed that most of the listed letterbox's ( of which we haven't found a great many yet) seem to be in circular grey or white plastic canisters often with an inner and an outer,so far we haven't found one of them that have leaked water. Could someone please tell me where you buy these? As we want to put out some letterbox's and they would seem to be the best containers to use.
Sorry to keep asking questions, but to us this is a whole new exciting world.

it sounds to me like you have found the large pill pots, if you ask your chemist they can help you as they just throw them away, most people noe are going for the click containers as they are down in price. just depends the size of the stamps and book you want to put in with it

The 'Pill Pots' are usually for sale at the meet, but as MW says, the chemist is your best option as all they do is throw them away. They are much better than the 'click boxes' anyway.

Pill post are a rare thing at many pharmaceys now. Most drugs come in blister packs. I ask when I'm in at 3 localish shops and I've only had one success.

Well
I will ask at the chemists, but it sounds as if there pill method might have changed, if so as one of you says they will be for sale at the meet. This meet sounds like it might cost us a fair bit, better go and see the Bank manager and arrange a loan.

Good observation! Yes, we noticed that quite a lot of letterboxes consisted of these (grey pots) and concluded that the letterboxing world must have had more than a couple of pharmacists among its membership :) .

We have used a 'snap lid' plastic sandwich box hinged on each of sides (bought at any supermarket). This seems to have kept out the weather and has plenty of room for a book and stamp. I lined the outside with black duct tape as an additional insurance against the elements.

Happy boxing !

Thanks
Still haven't got around to searching for your box, but I promise we will, and will let you know if we find it.

If you manage to find any pill pots - you are supposed to remove the labels - there is the hard way by picking it off or the easy way by filling the pot with boiling water and easily peeling the label off after a few seconds.
