Drat,
having been kept off the moor for the last 10 days or so with family commitments and then the rain on Sunday, we decided this afternoon ( commitments this morning,sadly) we would venture up and convert our 492 letterbox's to the magic 500. We knew of 6 we hoped to visit around Pil , and Higher Tor etc, so we thought we are bound to pick up another two. Well we got the six, but nothing else, so we are stuck on 498 and are away now until next tuesday. DRAT

Doh ! My feelings are with you. I don't know if I would have left the moor until I got those 2 little beggars. Good luck on your next trip.

I know exactly how frustrating that can be, I have been stuck 6 from a target many years ago.
One occasion I bumped ito a group of Brownies who were out boxing and one poor girl was really distraught that they were going home and she was on 99 boxes and they were not stopping to get back their minibus. She was lucky - I had my traveller on me at the time and she ended up going home happier than a pig in mud - sort of made my day - definitely made hers
