The Met Office are telling us:
On Christmas day...It should be quieter and more settled further south with conditions largely dry...though it will tend to turn cloudier later with rain possibly spreading from the northwest on Boxing Day

Its a far cry from last year's snowy scene! So has anyone got any Christmas weekend letterboxing plans? Or is everyone holding back till the Fur Tor pilgrimage on New Years Day?

Certainly no boxing over the Festive period but would like to do the Fur Tor trip on NYD!
But this all depends on family commitments, weather and health!!

Not Christmas weekend, sadly. But weather permitting for a few days between then and new year, with my first Fur Tor pilgrimage to round off the week.

We would love to go to Fur Tor on New Years day, but we have to see our son and his tribe off after lunch so no trip for us.

Have lunch on Fur Tor - that makes it easy to do both then

Grey sky today, there were some fantastically purple and grey and deep blue clouds over Cosdon, as the EDSZ family headed out on our first cycling boxing trip. The boy didn't want to do a long walk but was happy to do a bike ride with shorter walks embedded so he could poke about under rocks with his new christmas present trekking pole.

Our 6 or so mile route took in a few WOM boxes on the NE edge of the moor, we found all of them, explored a hut circle of two, chatted about Rowan trees and where you would get your food from if you lived on the side of Cosdon 100s of years ago.

Thank you to those box owners who have sent us clues over the year. The grown ups will be working out this evening where we head for tomorrow and next weekend. I'm toying with making a quick n dirty dated traveller stamp for new years day, and heading for somewhere on the fur tor approaches, don't think we will get all the way with a 5 year old, but if you spot us (poking about under a rock), do ask if we have a traveller.
