Keep going Big Dave there will be good days and bad, but you will get there eventually. I don't go too mad with the letterboxing thing I just enjoy being on the moor. I have walked all day and found none. Sometimes I am up there for a little over an hour and get 4. 8 is the record. no clues just a nice walk and keeping an eye out.

Welldone BigDave, great first find 8) you can always nip to the Bone hill Rocks to get your numbers up, just makesure you have children with you to avoid embarrassment

will bear bonehill in mind have never been there but it looks like no walking required so will have a look at chinkwell and honeybag while i am out that way :)

got plans for looking around the princetown area for the next few trips as its a part of the moors i know a lot better and is closer to home though i may not find as many boxes i do know where the bogs are to be avoided

next trip out i am going to look for the first box i found over 20yrs ago i was talking to my mum and she reminded me where it was i don't think it will be there as it was such a long time ago and was in a army ammo box which dosen't make the chances any better but you never know untill you look :)

I would recommend getting to as many of the bracken infested areas as possible before the growth season starts

Maybe better if you visit outside school hols - the mistake we made!!! Good news that your box/boxes have evaded the DLT for so long, espeially in such a popular area!!

went out today after the meet and found the first box from all those years ago it must have been there over 20 years and is still in the ammo box

it doesn't seem to get many visits to it though so must be an unregistered box

it's called west view granite block works

Thought that rang a bell - got it many years ago and if its the same one it is a registered catalogue box no:7040. Down from the track to Yellow?? to the quarry there. Amazing its still safe and well.

Letterbox No 7040 West View Granite Works, yes I found this one back in Oct 1989, still in the catalogue for all to find.
