Letterbox Theft

Have been away from letterboxing for 10 years. And am now starting again.
Is letterbox theft more now than it used to be.
There was always some missing especially in the more touristy areas.
Some of the boxes were stolen, some taken by letterboxers, others taken in by owners, who never informed anybody they had done so.

Unfortunately, I think that the LBT is as active as ever. :(

I think that the thief is a letterboxer, who has infiltrated the databases of other letterboxers. We have not seen the theft of entire series in my experience like this before.

Official catalogues exchange for small amounts of cash over the internet, and 100 club membership numbers are not routinely requested when purchasing the new catalogue.

10 figure grid references have undoubtedly made letterboxing easy for everyone - not least the LBT. The official catalogue updates won't print more than 6 figure grid references unless specified any more.

Welcome back to letterboxing though. I hope you haven't lost your compass!

Welcome back. I am not going to add more to that, except to say I wish the LBT all the bad luck in the world
