Today was a funny day. My dad and I went to the meet at about 10.30am, grabbed a few charity walks and the new catalogue, before making our way to the moor. This was the first time I had been letterboxing with my dad for close to 20 years.
Due to the location of the Meet, my dad suggested we go up near Western Beacon. Parking at Harford Carpark, 6459 we had a good look around. According to the new book, there was a couple over the 2-3 squares we travelled through, but the day was a lil frustrating.
There are so many fantastic places to home letterboxes around this part of the moor, I am considering placing a couple boxes up here myself. The views are fantastic and there is pretty much nothing in the way of letterboxes there!
In 3.5 hours, we found one letterbox, one dead sheep and one major hail storm. I also had to endavour the bragging rights of my dad, telling me he still has it and asking when I was gonna find a letterbox!! Banter aside and the fact we had an unsucessful letterboxing cachment, this area of Dartmoor is pretty beautiful and there is a cracking walk along the disused railway track.
