Yesterday afternoon, my friend and I walked for a couple hours along the River Lyd. The weather was ok, a couple showers, but generally good conditions to letterbox.
This walk is good for either very old letterboxers, or familys with young children. The terrain is easy going, scenic and from a letterboxing perspective-rewarding. Also, if you fancy a couple of hours on the moor after work, this is a great place to go.
Parking at the carpark adjacent to the Dartmoor Inn, Lydford, follow the path up towards the River, cross at either the Bridge or stepping stones and just follow the River up. We went up river, as far as Great Nooden, but time permitting, go as far as you want
There are many great places for letterboxes and the majority of boxes available are of a very high standard. We were fortunate to find a few animal rescue boxes and some great wom stamps.
