Sad news to report - All the boxes sited in this charity walk around Sourton Tors and Corn Ridge have been stolen. They were all lovely old hand cut stamps by a very well known and respectable letterboxer and were sited in aid of the Devon Air Ambulance and the restoration of Poltimore house by Pat Read.
Whoever has done this has deprived 2 charities of a lot of money, plus stolen valuable hand carved stamps that cannot be replaced.
Please do not attempt to do this walk until further notice - if you would like a copy of the stamps then please get in touch with Pat Read as per the clue sheet.

This is absolutly shocking and makes my blood boil. No wonder letterboxing is in decline, some absolute (insert swear word) has ruined it for everyone.

It's sad for everyone, charities will stop investing in charity walk exclusive stamps, less letterboxes on the moor, less people out finding them.

I really wish whoever has done this to pass a hedgehog.

It is dispicable that anyone removes any charity walk boxes, but even more so that the stamps donated for the walk are from a well respected boxer no longer with us.I know very well what I would like to do with the thief!
Whoever it was has played a game, I reckon, since box 2 was well in tact, then some missing. then box 5 was there - but stamp removed. A lot of the rest were 'intact' in as much that the hole was made to look like a box was still there but in fact was empty.
Our findings were reported to Pat hence the emails etc. We also told other boxers in a car park getting ready to do the walk.
I know all too well what it is like to lose hand cuts, some I have re cut more than twice. Colins will never be re cut!

Beggars belief that some one (group?) would steel from a charity? I think if most of us searched in our harts we would think we do not do enough for charity, BUT to take your own time to go out and wreak someone else's efforts to further a worthwhile cause? Well I think we are all of one mind on this?
