It seems the travelling catalogue is currently out of print while old boxes are being removed from it.

Sowerby, why is there no Autumn catalogue? If this is the case going forward, will they rename the Spring catalogue to just the Catalogue?!

Sad to say the Autumn catalogue was stopped a few years back. My last one was Autumn 2006, there may have been one in 2007 but none since then. Think the reason was that not many new boxes were being put out, but you will have to contact Sylvia for more info on this. of course it was also the time that Tony was nearing the end of his battle which he lost a couple of years ago. Lovely man.

The reasons why the catalogue became an annual publication is as Mo said, the drop in number of boxes, and to keep publishing costs down. Before the five year limit was imposed on registered boxes, the profit margin was literally a few pennies.
Sales dropped as a lot of the original crowd of boxers were calling it a day, getting too old to venture too far, or deciding that the moors were becoming swamped with too many commercially available stamps.
To be honest, it doesn't bother me all that much.

Just coming back into boxing after a few years out and noticed in this trail that boxes have to be registered after 5 years. Does this include Travelling boxes and I clearly will need to reregister my traveller before my first visit down to the moor in January. Oh and if it does what info is required and where do I send it.

Hi there, welcome to the forum. To answer your question please see below
Note from the 2012 Spring catalogue -
The re-registering of boxes after 5 years has ceased. With the amount of boxes being entered into the catalogue and deleted from it, it has become self governing and keeps to a fairly constant number of live boxes.
There is therefore no need to re-register your traveller.

Thanks for info.
Traveller "The Newbury Fruits" will be returning to the moor very shortly.
1st trip will be a stay over at the Plume bunkhouse 31.1.14 to 2.2.14 and out and about in the princetown area maybe we will bump into a few of you hardy souls.
Looking forward to get back onto the moor used to be there a lot but not visited for a few years need to add to my 2000 odd boxes and good think I guess is less likely to find duplicates now for a bit as many new boxes will have appeared.
