Hi all, does anyone know where we can get a two week forcast for the moors?
I use many weather sites and try and work out an adverage for the day I go out boxing.

Weather On Line eight day forcast: http://www.weatheronline.co.uk/cgi-bin/ ... G=citybild

BBC 5 day forcast: http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/5day.shtml?id=1891

The Met Office 5 day forcast: http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/uk/ ... ather.html

The Weather Channel 10 day forcast: http://uk.weather.com/weather/local/UKX ... e=code&y=0

Any others that you all may use? Not all of these allow Princetown as a search, so it has to be Tavistock or Okehampton.

Hi Dizzy

Just over a fortnight ago we very nearly didn't go to the moors (from London) because of the BBC / Met Office weather forecasts. Even on the morning we departed forecast was "heavy rain" or "heavy showers". Decided to risk it. In the end, 2 days of lovely weather, 1 day of heavy mist. Not one drop of rain. Even had some sunshine!.

This said, wish we had taken notice of the gales that were forecasted (and occurred) whilst we we camping in December!

Hi Mr Cock & Mrs Chicken, point taken, never take the forcast for granted but use it as a maybe or a warning so be prepared.

Cheers

This might sound a bit weird... but... if you look at the weather in Canada and North America - that weather usually comes to us about three weeks later.
But the thing to do is look at the weather in the atlantic and learn how to read the weather maps... on the whole weather moves to the Nortn East and you need to look at the way the cold and warm fronts work.

When in the service I learned how to do this basically and became fairly proficient at predicting the weather.
Also listening to the shipping forecast it is by far and away a much more accurate forecast than what we get on the TV

And if anyone has noticed - if BBC gives a forecast different to ITV then you know they have no idea what is going to happen.
