Where have you found Ticks this year?

This could be useful to those who are allergic to Sheep Ticks
If everyone who finds a tick on their person were to list the area they think they got it - then we could possibly build up a map of which are the worst affected areas...

For those of you who have not had a tick - they look like a small brown spot on your skin... until they get fat on your blood of course

Check areas like arms legs etc, the little sods crawl up inside the clothing and attach themselves somewhere, somewhere nice and tender

Got mine somewhere in the vicinity of Brat Tor or Arms Tor, little devil attached himself to my wrist - which was about the only bit of exposed flesh available!

Have you ever read something and mis interpreted it, my initial though was, Nik was going to produce a map of the human body so that he could identify if ankles or knees or other bits where targeted more by ticks than other areas....doh

I thought that at first also! So to cover both options....................
Bonehill Rocks (right knee)
Stannon Tor (right thigh)
BelleverTor (left calf)
Belstone Tor (stomach)

This is so far this year......................... :(

Well Nik I could have conducted a whole Tick study last night. Nice little bit of evening boxing on Cosdon Hill I had planned. Suffice to say, it is an area to be avoided like the plague - bracken, bracken and more bracken  - when I eventually emerged onto open ground my trousers were absolutely covered in the little critters. I got off all I could see, but they were crawling everywhere! Hot footed it along a path back to the car - frequently stopping to remove any more I could see. Straight home sitting on a blanket to inspect the damage. Unbelievably not one had managed to secure itself to my skin. My clothes have all been through a hot wash and my bags hoovered!! Oh what the novice boxer has to go through!! :(

Went from Pork Hill to Windy Post and back again and got one there - YES I was out on the Moors with Sue (Deja) and Dev - she has veto-ed the pics as proof she was there - a really nice pic of her and Dev stood with Dartmoor pony grazing by the post

BUT - I did get one of those little buggars on me munching on my leg - so it looks like they are going to be everywhere this year
