Ensure boxes are well hidden and in double sturdy pots so that they don't get stolen/damaged.

But most of all, enjoy yourself.

Sorry I missed this post the other day - welcome to the site

If you can get a catalogue - doesn't matter how old it is the Etiquette for boxers is in there. Along with a lot of other advice
However you will have to ask the land owners permission to allow people to hike across their land and to site these things.
You can use the excuse it will increase the amount of tourism to the island

Do not site boxes in walls or in historical ruins as this is considered vandalism.
But I wish you luck with your venture and it would be nice to see a clue or three posted on here

Have a look at the link below it should take you straight to the official Dartmoor letterboxing website, basically read the whole page it should give you the dos and dont.

Also

If you phone the Dartmoor National Park Authority they will be able to send you a copy of the new Letterboxing leaflet which again has ALL the info in there. Or down load it from their website.

And there it is post 300 And I still aint met anyone

Hi, does anyone know if there are any boxes in the Isle of Wight?

If so, would the clues be in the annual catalogue (which I don't yet have, as I started in the US, live in London, haven't yet been to Dartmoor and hence use AtlasQuest)? Or could I find any somewhere else?

I'm going tomorrow for a few days, doing some epic walks, and I'd love to find some boxes, but it occurred to me a bit late.

Many thanks!

If you Goggle, Dartmoor Bounders , you will find on this site a complete list of all U.K. and International Letterboxing clues or contacts.
We know Ian Kilpatrick personally and he co ordinates all this information F.o.C.
The nearest area to you that has a quantity of boxes is the New Forest (approx 1000)
Get back to us if you have any problems.

I know of only 3 boxes on IoW.
1 put out by Epsom Horrors and 2 by Fartors Bogtrotters.
Unfortunately I don't have the clues, but I have visited the boxes.
I suppose it's all a bit late now.
