Has anyone heard anything about the meet coming up in a couple of months? I've not seen anything in the updates as yet neither has the official web site been updated http://www.userfriendly-devon.com/100club/index.html

Any ideas?

Cheers for that Jason, I will let you know when I will be up there next, probably be a week on Wednesday weather permitting. Bit busy with my days off this week, (Tuesday & Wednesday), stamp making tomorrow and looking after my 8 year old on Wednsday.
I also joined a local band recently as their lead singer so Tuesday nights are now taken up to!

Cheers
Paul

No catalogue? Which reminds me - any sign of the latest update?
or is that going by the by these days and clues are going back to the old fashioned way - EVerything is WOM again...

Clock change will be the last weekend of October - thanks to Bill Gates for that

Hi Dizzy,

Knew it wouldn't be long before your singing career took off! :D The next George Michael in the making  so when are you getting the links to your songs on your website - or perhaps you could put them on here somewhere?
Good Luck with the Band! :D

Hi Jo, thanks for the vote of confidence! I let a friend borrow a CD of mine containing photo's, programs and other computer stuff and I just happened to have some of my recordings on it. He came across these and with him being the band drummer (needing a front man, lead singer) he e-mailed one of the songs to the other band members. They liked what they heard and asked me along to there band practice last Tuesday, going again tonight!
The kind of music is 60's and 70's, T-Rex, Rolling Stones, Animals and so on, not the kind of thing I usually sing so loads of listening to a tape I recorded in my Park Ranger van. I was wondering why I'm getting so many wierd looks, I now sing quietly with mouth nearly closed when passing people!

Here is a link to me singing so you can all have a giggle!

As they say Dizzy - practice makes perfect - I sing along to records on the radio (Mainly Rock music) while I am driving along through the streets of London as there isn't much else to while being stuck in traffic jams, and I dont adjust the volume for them. Over the past months my voice has gotten better. I usually think I dont care how bad I am cos I will never see them again. So sing out loud

Thanks for your comments guys and gals! As I said though the music I am currently practicing is somewhat different to the kind of thing I sing in the shower. T-Rex, Billy Idol (White Wedding), Stones, Beatles and many more from that era, a little before my time really (honest).

I will let you know how things go, seems great so far, and what I buzz I get from singing with a band!

Cheers

Ah 'White Wedding', I nailed it in karaoke at Knights Bar in Protaras, Cyprus last week. :)

I used to sing with a band that performed mostly at science fiction conventions. We sometimes used to do the second half of the set as a pi**-take rock band, all dressed in black leathers with mirrored sunglasses and doing parodies of some of the classic rock ballads. Part way through the set I would take off the shades and throw them across the stage to reveal mirrored eyeballs  All great fun.

The first and LAST song I ever performed - which was in the charts at the time I was 7 years old I think - and it was It's a Hard Days Night - The Beatles Oddly I remember not forgetting the lyrics - dunno if we were in tune - but all the girls screamed all the way throught it
Probably screaming in terror at our singing

I goes to show we all have hidden talents! I'm going to have to make myself a personal identity, to be more distinct, mind you the bald head helps! :) Why do you think my Dizzy characture has no hair! :P

Are there any pictures? Now these could be worth seeing
However I have to say there definitely no pictures of me singing - no one was rich enough i those days to own a camera

Unfortunately not. I can't do it any more though, the mirrored contact lenses were to my prescription and after having a close encounter with a laser I'm not short sighted any more so I can't see a thing if I put them in. The lenses are the big ones they use for special effects in films, my optiican got a contract with the BBC and watned someone to practice on because fitting is quite tricky, so I acted as her guinea pig in exchange for getting the lenses.
