Hoping to site a couple of boxs soon ... now I'm no artist (as you will see) but have tried my hand at carving to make them more personal - a little naive I admit but would welcome feedback.

roughly 70mm x 50mm - trying to depict me with my one year old in his backpack throne and my wife finding the box ...

roughly 50mm x 35mm - inspired by our two dogs panting over the weekend ... maybe should have made it a little more dog like ...

Not sure if they are good enough to site but we all have to start somewhere ... only so much i can do with a Stanley blade and make shift scraper - may invest in some proper carving tools :D

Hi Allen,

Sounds interesting - but no image attached yet. You could try hosting on something like imgur.com and posting a link to that, if you're having trouble with the forum itself.

:oops: thought I must have done something wrong with the upload ... using google photos to host but I will try again ... sorry think it works now - a handy lesson!

having recently found http://www.legendarydartmoor.co.uk/lett_box.htm I haddnt thought of adding place names ... was thinking of locating the stamps on tors that would relate to them in some way so maybe I'll carve the names of the tors into the stamp - across the hot dog and in the black of the rock?

Well done - I like the first one, but the hot dog is a no no for me and if found will probably get taken by children. Always best to keep the subject Dartmoor related.

Thank you for your reply! Completely understand and I should have made it a little more clear with the connection with the image - so I've added the places they will be located and will have to hope for the best.

Have invested in a few cutting tools so will try and produce a 'moor' dartmoor related carving for the next stamp :)

They look really good!

When I tried it, things were not anywhere near as neat and tidy.
