Unfortunately, some kind sole has stolen this one. I wasn't intending replacing it. However, as I'm having some other stamps made up at the moment, I decided I will replace it just once, although will be siting it in a slightly different position near to the Pool.

I will let everyone know one i've re-sited it. Will be in the next few weeks.

I think the only way is to make it a 2 grid ref or a cryptic clue, i think full grids in the updates are now asking for trouble.

I'd replace it if it was a single box but not if it was part of a limited time walk.

Hi Tina, such a shame. We were at Crazywell Pool a couple of weeks ago. We weren't letterboxing at the time, we were calking but stopped there for a picnic. There was not a soul in sight - beautiful spot and we did say it would be a fantastic letterbox location. We would definitely replace the box!

I am the odd one out in voting 'no' here I think. I have had boxes go 'missing' and it would prove costly to keep replacing them. I would however replace part of a walk, as some letterboxers may not be able to complete the set.

The first ever letterbox I stamped was at Crazy Well Pool. I say stamped because I never actually found it. It was called Crazy Well Pool (maybe the original box) and depicted a frog. I was on a sponsored walk from Burrator Reservoir to Princetown whilst in primary school. We also found one on South Hessary Tor. If memory serves me correctly it was a Jubilee Lamp box. Unfortunately I lost them at some point and are no longer pride of place in my collection

So my first find as a letterboxer is actually Commando - Abseiling

We have replaced Five boxes on our 'Found in Dartmoor' walk only for three more to go missing, one of the boxes has now been stolen three times. It is a shame and over 100 people have stamped the visitor book. This also has now been replaced, as it was found in the open and thankfully returned to us.
We shall not be replacing the missing boxes again as it feels like a waste of time, energy and money. We feel sorry for those who try to complete the walk and find 3 boxes missing but when do you stop replacing them?
We like to replace missing boxes but there is a limit to how often.

I thought about that for a long time one of my first stamps I had out I think lasted a day or two before it was stolen, so I then spent hours recutting it. I resited it on Great Trowlesworthy which for some reason sparked a huge row, because I marked it out from the centre of a hut circle - in a natural hole. I remember this guy had a go at me because he said I had sited in a hut circle (absolute No no) No matter how many times I told him it was well outside the hut circle.

Nowadays I dont replace because it aint worth it - as there are far too many thieves out there

Hi,
I've only started recently and for a while when we couldn't find one we just thought we weren't very good at it! We spent about an hour looking for Tina at Crazywell and didn't even contemplate that people would nick them its so sad. I can't believe others with the same hobby or vandals would do it, we are suprised now at how many we get to that have been removed or damaged its such a shame. Does anyone know why people do it?

It would appear from the latest Update that my replacement "Tina Visits Crazywell Pool" stamp seems to have gone missing now. I won't be replacing it this time. Getting a little fed up with my boxes keep being stolen now.
