First timer question on damaged stamps

Started letterboxing with the kids last week and have caught the bug.

Been out today around Down Tor and found plenty of boxes.
But just wanted to have confirmation on if i've done right.

Found one box (Curried 67) which had a totally rotten stamp inside in loads of bits. I removed the box as i've read a few of the threads here and guessed that was the best thing to do. BUT WHAT DO I DO NEXT?

Also found (Stephs Dragon 36) which had a stamp that had come off and curled up making it unusable and the book was all soggy as well. I've got the e-mail for Steph and have offered to re-pot and re-site the box if she wants to send a new stamp down from Norfolk. IS THIS OK TO DO?

Couldn't find another couple of Curried boxes, but not sure if that was just down to me not looking too hard or not knowing waht to look for.

But had loads of fun anyway.

Aha that's why I couldn't find curried 67 & dragon 36 today, you wouldn't have found curried 64 because like you I found it last week a bit worse for wear so I took it of the moor & emailed Mr curried to inform him, he them sent me a copy of the stamp, there's still two other curried & dragon boxes up there though. I've pm'ed you Mr curried email so you can let him know.
You've done the best thing by removing the boxes all you can do now is let them know that you've done it.
Did I see you coming of the Moor about 4ish, You up the front kids in the middle wife sorting out the stragglers?
I thought about getting a couple of kids to go rooting amongst the rocks but then I remembered I'd have to feed them & I don't like sharing my sandwiches
I always write down contact info just to let them know how their boxes are doing.

Must have been someone else.

Im an early bird on Sundays and the kids were not too keen on a 9am start. I was back home by 2 and a roast was waiting for me.

Is this forum the only system of letting people know of missing or removed boxes?

No - you first need to contact the owner if you have removed the box and also if you think it is missing. The box may have been re-sited or even may still be there, but you were in the wrong place. However, this is a good place to record this information, but the correct place is to contact the persons in charge of the catalogue and updates and that is Malcolm and Angela Alderidge. I have pm'd you their email address, as personal details shouldn't be published. You would need the box number of the missing or removed box. Hope this helps.

While i was looking on COX TOR i found a round black box which had a stamp in it, but the stamp vwas really perished andthere was no way of whowing who it belonged too. unfortunatly i could not stamp it in ma book at it was to damaged! so i just placed it back where i found it!

further on though i found STEPHANIES DRAGON NO. 11 first of many i think.

Does anyone heppen to know how many there are of these dragon stamps. and if i could get the hotmail address for her so i can contact her about them. thank you!

I lost my pen when i got to it so i could not write down the co-ordenates for it.

Although it is on the NW Slope of Cox tor further down from the main rock top! nr a very old looking tree 304o looking twards Brentor 306o & domed building 276o it has a trangular looking rock hiding it from view.

I would love to nkow any more about these dragons, thanks
