Went letterboxing for the first time last week. Went to Haytor with my 5 year old who was very excited.
I saw a lid for a blue lunchbox lying on the grass, but did not know where it came from.
About an hour later, found the rest of the lunchbox but could not find the lid again. It was a pretty windy day.
The box had no contact details in it and was a tribute box to Martin and had a music note stamp.
I put the notebook in a plastic bag, covered the box with a large stone and replaced it as best I could.
It was only after that I thought that I should have removed the box and taken it to the visitor centre. Apologies to the box owners, but there were no contact details. Next time I will take the box.
