Just wondering how many are boxing this weekend.

I went out to Belstone again today and walked approximately 5km - it took me 5 hours but then I was taking my time and placing out a walk which will be in the catalogue update soon.

The weather was absolutely gorgeous out there. I had a fantastic time.

It's so great to be backing boxing again after such a long break.

Not this weekend but looking forward to making a trip down this week. Still deciding where to go. Belstone funnily enough was one area I was looking at. The other is a trip to Ducks Pool. Haven't been on that part of the moor since my DofE days in the late 1980's

I've just got back from another lovely walk around the Staples and Cox Tor. Didn't find all the boxes I wanted as my database needs updating but at least it was a pleasant day. Although the clouds were looking decidedly black when I got back to the car and the wind was getting up.

Hello ghost, maybe we saw you or you saw us.- (2 adults in red tops and a small boy in purple top)

Popped up to Sourton Tors area for the afternoon. had a great time hunting under rocks, climbing over rocks and found 11 boxes. only 2 of which are in my catalogue and one of those ( a lair seekers viewpoint) is cryptic and was found by chance. Some nice stamps to add to the collection.

The wedding box we found was nice, been there a long time too. and jessies memorial box has a lovely stamp.

 Well, I am not Ghost, but I saw you pottering about on the outcrops. I was a bit further back behind you and as I was walking back to my car, you were just getting into yours. I picked up a couple below the wall. Lovely afternoon, plenty of activity around the moors. There seemed to be some sort of bike race going on and also an organised Motor cycle ride. Marshalls everywhere on my drive home.

The bikers were cycling past the Cox Tor area as well all day long.

Yeah, there seemed to be quite a few of them. I was thinking 'I've heard of fair weather cyclists, but this is ridiculous!'

Duck's Pool won it. Parked at Nuns Cross and headed out via Plym Head and returned via Erme Pits and Abbot's Way. A very nice day despite the wind. Quite dry underfoot too which was unexpected.

Pleased to say that Ducks Pool and Philpotts Cave stamps both in situ. Didn't find Grant's Pot - mainly 'cos I didn't spend that long looking for it. Found a few others including some WOM to compensate.

Finished off with a cream tea in the Fox Tor Cafe. Bliss!

Hi WATG,

Grant's Pot can be a bit of a challenge to find until you 'get your eye in'. It's much easier to spot the entrance from the south (ie, downstream) as the entrance points that way. Once you've spotted it though, its obvious on subsequent visits.

Good to hear you made it to Ducks Pool. I visited many years ago so might take a trip out there again. I only collected the main box the day I went - before the days of GPS so was just relieved to get there. This time around I might try going in from Nun's Cross as well.

As luck has it I was up that way today; bypassed Duckspool and headed (From Nuns Cross end) across Crane Hill to Blacklane Mire (an error - still miry), then down Blacklane brook to Woolake for another look at Grants Pot. Forgot torch, but poking with stick in pitch dark didn't turn up any box. And back via Erme Pits. Apart from a little difficulty when cattle around Woolake took against my dog a good walk. Last year did a good alternative, starting at Shipley Bridge, up and across and passing Western White Barrow, down and along to Erme Pits, up to Ducks Pool and then back via Red Lake and then round the Avon Reservoir back to car. A very satisfying walk!

The cyclists were doing a Devon Coast to Coast challenge ride, it had multiple routes round the moor and I think multiple start points on the south coast. some of them were wearing a really cool Devon flag cycle jersey.

Yep, we do a fair bit of pottering on out crops, boy likes "climbing" on clitter. calls himself " Mr clever eyes clitter hopper" when boxing at present. I havn't made him a stamp that says that yet, too long.

Or you could find the exact GPS coordinates for Grant's pot on the geocaching website ....
