Tricky. Think the top one is somewhere near Holwell Lawn and the bottom one Cathanger Rock, though not with great confidence!

Sorry Paul, guess again.

No.1 - you would have probably seen, but never visited. No.2 - you probably would have visited on one of your first boxing walks.

The Sly Fox

2010-11-07 08:46:58

Not a clue for No.1

But I think No.2 may be Sampford Tor or even Heckwood Tor?

whoisthechallenger

2010-11-07 17:25:12

Well done. Heckwood Tor is correct. No.1 is also on the South Moor...

Heres a different view of No.1. It may help?

whoisthechallenger

I assume you've never been to Tristis Rock! If you want to, its now accessible thanks to the Right To Roam laws. Speaking of which, where on the moor is this?

Since Number 3 has drawn a blank, heres an alternative view of it.

Bingo TWA! And in case you were wondering, I can't fly - I have Fowlers Estate Agents in Chagford to thank for 3a. Crockern Farm is up for sale.

Foxy: Its a good guess - but its not right!

Just a couple more photos?

I reckon No.6 is Lynch Tor and No. 7 is Three Barrows.

I meant Shapley Tor for No.5. That make any difference?

Paul

whoisthechallenger

2010-11-09 09:12:22

Shapley Tor? Nope. Three Barrows? Incorrect.

No.6 - Lynch Tor. Yes! Well done.

The Wandering Artist

2010-11-09 20:55:36

No. 7 looks like Corndon.

TWA

whoisthechallenger

2010-11-09 21:43:55

Looks like Corndon... but is not Corndon. Sorry. Think North Moor.

Number 5 isn't getting much attention. I'll throw in this bonus image. Its the view from the top of the subject.

TWA

whoisthechallenger

2010-11-10 20:40:28

Hooray! Thank you TWA. Cosdon is correct!

Just one left and we can all move on! No.5 everyone. Concentrate. I'm sure you've all been to this place...

The Wandering Artist

2010-11-11 21:35:32

No 5 - only place I can see a post(S) on is Hameldon.

The Wandering Artist

2010-11-11 21:39:29

No 5 - can only think of Hameldon and the posts.

TWA

whoisthechallenger

2010-11-11 22:44:39

Its not Hameldon. It is a peak with history on the East side of the Moor though. It has this glorious view (see 5a) over to Pupers and Holne Moor. Its...

Buckland Beacon

Hmmm... This games tougher than it looks, isn't it?

No.1 - Petres Cross

No.2. No idea.

Sowerby Streaker

2010-11-12 21:54:04

See - I said it was easy - Petres cross is right, but where is number 2, TWA will know

The 2 figures in the background of No:1 were 2 of the 3,000 runners taking part in the Inernational original Mountain Marathon. They ran past us coming up from Red lake foot :?

Before we all get bogged down in another Geocaching/Letterboxing debate, we have a diversion for you.

Where are these two 'roadies'?

11 is Fitzs cross at Klondyke Corner with East Hill in the background. Nobody has guessed my nuumber 2 yet - a further clue would be north moor.

2. Ottery Tor?

whoisthechallenger

2011-04-05 17:53:03

Number 11 is Fitz Well/Fitz Cross/East Hill - I'd accept any of these answers. Well done!

Sowerby Streaker: Is your No.2 on the North Walla Brook below Bushdown Mine??

Sowerby Streaker

2011-04-05 21:26:29

No sorry not Ottery Tor or Bushdown area - its within a firing range though

whoisthechallenger

2011-04-08 19:17:31

2. Lints Tor Brook??

No.10. If you went to the latest meet, you were in sight of it... :)

Sowerby Streaker

2011-04-08 19:28:30

No:10 then is Whitehill Tor - No:2 no not Lints tor, try nearly 4 squares down

whoisthechallenger

2011-04-08 20:02:15

Yes: Whitehill Tor! What took so long?! :D

Speaking of which - No.2. :? ?? I said we had no idea...

On the upper reaches of the Tavy then: Amicombe Brook below Little Kneeset?

Sowerby Streaker

2011-04-08 20:18:39

Closer - very warm, so will give you the answer - its the Lords Mayors Castle on the Tavy

whoisthechallenger

2011-04-08 20:26:39

Doh! You'd never believe it Mo, but it was the next answer I was going to suggest! Thanks for putting us out of our misery!
