I found a box today between Black Tor and Black Tor Cops
PEDESTRIANS SERIES NO2 CAPT. ROBERT BARCLAY 1779-1854
The dates in book are 01/10/87 14/11/87 20/11/87 15/03/88 08/04/89 29/07/89 12/08/90 30/06/91 08/09/91 and then ours 26/02/2012!!!!
Best of all it still had the postcard in it.
Wonder why there is a gap of 21 years?
ANYWAY QUESTION: Do I post it?
It is addressed to a Mr R Carpenter of Kingsteingnton 21 YEARS!!!!!
Anybody know him?

Well done on a nice find. Roy Carpenter was a gentleman who nearly always left a postcard in the boxes he visited, ready for the next visitor to post on. You have obviously found one of his cards. Don't think he boxes anymore, so will try and find some info for you.

Roy hasn't boxed for many years now but may still be at the same address. so might be worth still sending the card on with a note to say that the box is still in very good condition.

I'm sure they still except the "Penny Black" lets face it the service hasn't changed? But as always Nick words of wisdom. THANKS.
Should I put out the grid ref so others can visit or would that invite UNDESIRABLES?

If you are going to put out the grid ref - I would suggest doing it by PM to your friends... now we find out who your friends are!

More news about Roy - he is still interested in receiving any cards anyone finds and is at the same address in Kingsteignton. He sometimes goes to the Bovey Meet to chat to old friends. He has loads of albums of the cards people have posted from the boxes he left them in. So check the postage and post it on - he will be delighted his card has been found after such a long time.
