Jubilee Celebration

The Wandering Artist

So what are we all doing this weekend?

Are we true Royalists and celebrating the biggest event in Royalty (and History of England to be enacted for over a hundred years)

What reaction from our foreign 'viewers' to all the 'pomp and ceremony (celebrations). Be nice to record the events, and peoples points of view on here.

Me? Got the flags and buntting up, family 'do' on Sunday and a street party on Monday.

Sunday it has to be watching The Thames Pageant on the television with a big packet of peanuts and a few beers.

Monday family BBQ then its off to see the lighting of D.J. Beacon on Gibbet Hill, Hindhead. The procession will be lead up to the Beacon through the woods by a Scottish Piper. Looking foreward to that, pity there are no letterboxes on route.

PS Its just started to rain here

Maybe "SOMEONE" should carve a series of stamps celebrating Her Majesties 60 year in the job? Not me of course, I can carve my way through traffic on my bike but that is about it!

Thinking about it 60 years without being made REDUNDANT must be some sort of record in this country? I have had to "Bite the Bullet" TWICE and I am constantly under threat of making it 3! Hay Ho?

While being in AWE of what the Queen has achieved I have to feel sorry for the Prince of Wales, NOBODY has waited longer to be promoted?

ANYWAY a whole 4 days of BASKING in the PRIVELAGE of being born BRITISH? :D

Not wanting to sound callous, but Charles is literally in a "dead mans shoes" job.

However I suspect Elizabeth may well outlive her son!

Whilst on the Jubilee, while I am here, I think it has definitely given the country a feel good factor not seen for the past 5 years... I might even go down to the Mall this afternoon to watch the flypast

Update on my jubilee celebrations...

Went to Charing Cross station, tried to find a away to the Mall from there, encountered some foreign protestors who were saying the Queen is a waste of human skin basically... and telling us all we were sheep. I then told them I am not a sheep, but a wolf, and tore down their banner - big cheers from the crowd! They then assalted me... trying to get their banner back, which they eventually do... police turn up, I tell policeman that I objected to their protest... along with many supporting comments from the crowd.

Police escort demonstrators away, dozens come up to me pats on the back handshakes from so many people... then I wandered off.

Tried again to get to find a vantage point - failed and went home

An enjoyable day altogether

TOP STUFF Nik not a wasted day at all then?

Get you a pint of real ale for that one!

BUT I am surprised the police didn't arrest you, after all you an ENGLISHMAN living in ENGLAND oppressing these poor foreigners who show no respect for ENGLISH values. Easy NIK there for the police. (if you'll pardon the pun!)

TOP STUFF NICK. WAY TO GO!
