If, like myself you have walked any distance on the South West Coast Path, you'll know just how spectacular the route is. Unlike paths across linking scenic areas or following ancient trackways found elsewhere in the country, this was a working path prior to becoming a National Trail - allowing coastguards to view and access the entire coastline.

The South West Coast Path Association is now searching for walkers to participate in a relay along the whole route to mark the their 40th anniversary next April and May. The walk will be split into 56 legs, with an expert guide on each. The association is aiming for at least 30 walkers on the trail each day in a series of sponsored walks. Their hope is to raise £1/4 million to fund improvements on the path.
