What do you think? There was talk this morning on the TV about the re-installation of the Dartmoor rail link across the moors. The price tag was something in the region of £200 Million...
Old stations would be brought back to life, with the obvious compulsory purchases etc... The scenery would be magnificent... but is the cost going to be prohibitive, and the journey time far too long?

I think the old iron viaduct at Meldon is "past it's best?" lol
however the view would be great?

We are one of the land owners who own a bit of this railway near Brentor, it wouldn't make that much difference to us if the railway was working again but I feel really sorry for the people who live close to the line such as the former stations and further down the line at Tavistock the council offices will have to be pulled down with a row of about dozen houses which have been built on the track, I am sure there are numerous other dwellings that also be affected.
I personally think it wont happen and will stay in South Devon.

I remember getting that train to Yeovil Pen Mill. I must have been 4 or 5 years old, getting bored out of my mind as it took nearly 5 hours. Slow was an understatement
