Question

The Ghost Returns

2015-10-30 19:58:14

I have been looking at this site now for a number of years and have only just realized that each person has the following after their name in the authors column, AMBLER/DRIFTER/HIKER/TREKKER and five circles . This seems to be some sort of grading. Does this relate to the number of posts members put on the site?

It is down to the number of posts you make:

Drifter 0 - 20

Ambler 21 - 50

Hiker 51 - 200

Trekker 201 - 500

Adventurer 501 - 1000

Veteran 1001

Freemans of the Moor

Similarly we have often wondered who are the "Guest" members who are on line when we visit the Forum? Sometimes there are more "Guests" than MEMBERS!

Guests are those forum readers who haven't logged in. They may be curious letterboxers, global internet users found there way to our page by accident perhaps. I suspect that spambot computers are often responsible too.

Most of the "guests" are bot programs looking for places like this to dump spam on

There are a few genuine ones who actually register, but they are few and far apart.

Just had a look at the "guests" now and all of them are bots from the USA

didn't realise that thisambler/hiker/trekker was related to number of posts made - thanks for pointing this out!!
