I still check every morning, but not posting so much. We had two new users in February but as you say, nobody posted.

Bear in mind there are anywhere up to 40 guests a day that log onto the site, they can read a fair bit, but cannot post.
I still look in. Winter is a quiet time , dark nights, cold days etc . But spring is coming, (although it doesn't look like it when I look out of the window), and the meet is at the end of the month. Something to look forward to. :D There is also competition from groups on facebook :(

I've just joined up :?
I posted on the missing boxes sub-forum but it does seem very quiet.
Has the LBT killed off Dartmoor letterboxing?
I went letterboxing with my parents on the moor over twenty years ago. I've recently moved back to the area and wanted to find some boxes. I've got the latest catalogue and my new stamp arrives tomorrow (see the username!) although I've not had much luck with finding any boxes over the last week. There are still stamps to be found, aren't there :|

No, the LBT hasn't killed it. (I've always been very skeptical of such a shadowy being anyway)
But the fear of the LBT has certainly affected how easy it used to be to get started. I suspect most boxes are now word-of-mouth and not published in the catalogue, making it very hard to get into. Personally I think that will kill off letterboxing in the long term since anything needs new blood.
Many people have adopted new technology and gone onto geocaching (myself included).
Does anyone know how busy the meet was this weekend? That's probably a good indicator.

Unfortunately I only knew the meet was happening yesterday evening or I would've driven down. One of the charities, for Crohn's and colitis, tweeted a photo and it looked fairly busy, and it said it had raised £265.

I still check in although the Facebook page is a little busier ... Meet was good and very busy when I was there, which is good for the hobby!
I was in a similar position returning to letterboxing after a good few years living away ... I think with a little publicity/ positive press there could be a good few more returning to the hobby, with us youngunns who were taken out as kids getting back out there - but I do hope WOM boxing dosnt make it harder.
I still prefer nice stamps rather than geocashes - Long live the hobby !
